Abstract Objective: This thesis investigates the contributions of the Global Fund in controlling malaria in Vietnam since 2014, focusing on its multifaceted approaches, strategies, and interventions in malaria prevention, detection, and treatment, as well as overall health system strengthening. Subject and Methods: The research employs a case study design combined with a desk review of project documents, financial reports, impact assessments, and academic literature. Qualitative methodologies, including key informant interviews and thematic analysis, are used to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the Global Fund's interventions. Key Findings: The study finds that the Global Fund's contributions have significantly enhanced malaria control in Vietnam through increased funding, technical support, and infrastructural improvements. Notable successes include improved diagnostic capabilities, the introduction of rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs), and increased community awareness and engagement. However, challenges such as logistical issues, funding constraints, and the emergence of drug-resistant malaria strains were identified. The research highlights the critical role of international collaboration, government commitment, and community involvement in sustaining malaria control efforts and provides insights into effective public health interventions.

Abstract: This study was conducted to answer the epidemiological characteristics of the COVID-19 pandemic in Thanh Hoa as well as how the policies adopted by the provincial government have responded to the pandemic during the past 2 years. The study was description study using COVID-19 secondary data from 8373 COVID-19 cases in Thanh Hoa from 2020 to 2021 and 658 documents that were issued or implemented in the province during this period. Results showed that Thanh Hoa province did not strongly affect by the three first waves of the COVID-19 pandemic in the period of 2020-2021. The fourth wave of pandemic in Thanh Hoa is similar to the general trend of the whole country, especially after the Resolution 128/NQ-CP. The average test-results delay time and the average informed-case delay time are 0.47 and 0.7 days, respectively. Policies applied in the province reflect the anti-pandemic strategy of Vietnamese government. In addition, policies in Thanh Hoa were included of stakeholders from various sectors and all levels. Therefore, continuing to build on the efforts made in the prevention of COVID-19 in the past two years is necessary in more dangerous pandemics in the future. Besides, strengthen further the testing capacity as well as the data-sharing mechanism of Thanh Hoa province's health system to be able to cope with possible future high-contagious diseases.

Từ khóa:
Objectives: 1. To explore the awareness towards COVID 19 vaccines and reasons to make decisions for COVID 19 vaccination among Vietnamese adults in 2021. 2. To analyse the association between awareness of COVID 19 vaccination in Vietnamese adults and some socioeconomics factors in 2021. This is the secondary data analysis of a cross-sectional study. Adults aged from 18 to 86 years old who took part in the COVID 19 vaccination program at the Hanoi Medical University and general adults accessed through email list of researchers during the period from 15 July to 30 September 2021. Among 1393 study populations, one third of the participants could state three or four types of vaccines during the interview and almost all participants knew at least one type of COVID 19 vaccine. Swelling, pain and some systemic reactions of vaccinations were aware by more than 70% of participants. The major reasons of the decisions to take COVID 19 vaccinations were “Fear of worsening pandemic situation”, “More understanding of vaccines and it is more reassuring”, and “Work or activities need COVID 19 vaccinations”. The mean (SD) of awareness score was 5.8 (2) out of 11. According to the multiple linear regression model, awareness score was greater in females, and higher education level with statistically significant p values. It is less in participants working in non-medical sector than the medical sector with p value <0.001.

Từ khóa:
Background: Survivors from traumatic brain injury suffer from functional and cognitive deficits. Activities of Daily Living is crucial in measuring the treatment and health-related quality of life among these patients. Patients with traumatic brain injury suffer from activities and dysfunction. Previous studies revealed that direct assessment of activities of daily living is the most accurate predictor of a person's need for assistance or ability to manage their life independently in the community. Traumatic brain injury is among the leading causes of death in Vietnam, mostly caused by traffic accidents. However, very few studies included the assessment of activities of daily living as an instrumental measure among this population in Vietnam. Thus, this study will provide the audience with a general evaluation of traumatic brain injury patients using this measure and associated factors during the recovery of traumatic brain injury patients Objectives: This study aims to evaluate activities of daily living among the traumatic brain injury population in Thai Binh province and determine the correlated factors to this indice. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 212 patients with traumatic brain injury from February to September 2020 in Vietnam. Katz ADL scale was applied. Depression, quality of sleep, and social support scales were used. Multivariate Tobit regression was adopted to identify factors associated with activities of daily living. Results: 75.9% patients with traumatic brain injury recovered their activities of daily living function completely. Continence was the activities of daily living task that patients controlled well, while transferring was the lowest proportion on activities of daily living independence. Patients who received first aid had higher ADL scores than those who had not, by a statistical difference with a p-value = 0.04. The mean ADL score was 5.4 (SD = 1.4. Depression and ISS score (p < 0.01) strongly affected ADL index. Conclusion: The study's findings offered evidence for authorities to change the healthcare policies for TBI patients. Proper prehospital care, a basic low-cost hospital care model, and mental health counseling services should be addressed to improve the health-related quality of life among the patients.
