Evaluation of liver fibrosis is necessary to make the therapeutic decision and assess the prognosis of CHB patients. The current study aimed to describe the progression and identify some influencing factors in patients with chronic hepatitis B at a General Hospital in Northern Vietnam. The longitudinal study included 55 eligible subjects diagnosed Hepatitis-B-virus. Dependent variable was the aspartate aminotransferase/platelet ratio index and we collected some demographic variables and disease related and behaviour variables. Bayesian Model Averaging was used to select variables into model. Mixed-effect linear models were used to evaluate the change of the aspartate aminotransferase/platelet ratio index over time and identify related factors. the aspartate aminotransferase/platelet ratio index differences between examinations, age of participants, working status were statistically significant. This pattern indicated that the average the aspartate aminotransferase/platelet ratio index of the population decreased by 0.005 (95% CI=-0.009; –0.001) after each patient’s visit, and increased by 0.013 if the patient’s age increased by 1 year (95% CI=0.005; 0.0219). For non-working patients, the aspartate aminotransferase/platelet ratio index was lower, coefficient was –0.054 (95% CI=-0.108; 0.001). Other variables such as gender, education level, time for disease detection, drinking tea, alcohol consumption, forgetting to take medicine and the aspartate aminotransferase/platelet ratio index were not significantly different. The study showed that the majority of study subjects had average the aspartate aminotransferase/platelet ratio index, and were relatively well controlled and treated during the study. Age and working status are factors that influence the the aspartate aminotransferase/platelet ratio index

Rationale: To prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic, the biggest immunization campaign in history had been deployed worldwide. Therefore, it is important to inform the adverse events following immunization (AEFI) to populations. Objectives: To prevent vaccine hesitancy, this study focused on finding the common AEFI with the COVID-19 Comirnaty vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech) among participants aged 18 and above and related factors in Hanoi, Vietnam. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out to collect participants’ data and AEFI after being vaccinated at Hanoi Medical University, Vietnam, in 2021. Logistic regression was utilized for analyzing the correlated factors of AEFI. Results: We recruited a random sample of 820 participants who received both basic doses of Pfizer vaccine in September and October 2021. The proportion of AEFI after the first dose, second dose, and both doses of Pfizer vaccine was 24.4%, 64.2%, and 18.5%, respectively. AEFI mostly appeared within 1 day and lasted for 1 to 2 days. The AEFI were more common in females (OR=1.7; 95% CI=1.25–2.29) and younger age groups (OR=1.9; 95%CI=1.37–2.58). History of allergy, allergic diseases, chronic diseases, and occupations were not statistically significant with AEFI Conclusion: Our findings indicated that the COVID-19 Comirnaty vaccine
is safe to be injected. Gender and age group are important factors
influencing AEFI.

Objective: This study was to assess the quality of life (QoL) of Vietnamese children with cochlear implants (CI) according to the perception of their parents, and to determine associated factors on the perceived QoL. Methods: A cross – sectional study were conducted among 68 children (20 children aged 3–6 years, and 48 children aged 7–10 years) who had cochlear implantation at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, Hanoi, from June 2020 to November 2021. Kiddy-KINDLR and KINDLR questionnaires were used to gather information on QoL of their children. Scores were transformed to a 100-point scale with 100 representing the most positive response. Results: Parents of the 7–10 year group rated generic QoL more positively than the 3–6 year group, overall average scores were 72.1, and 69.6, respectively. Parents of 7–10 years also rated QoL of their children slightly below average than that of the standard hearing population in both girls, and boys. A significant inverse correlation was detected between the overall QoL and age at first cochlear implant (r = − 0.284, p = 0.019), and duration of cochlear implant experience was positively correlated with overall mean QoL score (r = 0.268, p = 0.027). Higher level of father’s education level showed better QoL among their children (p = 0.015). Conclusion: The QoL of Vietnamese children with CI were slight lower than average compared with normal hearing children. Age at cochlear implant, cochlear implant use duration, and education level of father were influencing factors of the QoL of children with CI in Vietnam.

This study aimed to describe mental health service utilization and examine associated factors among students in Vietnam. Data were collected at eight universities in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2018 using an administered questionnaire. The total number of participants was 9,120 (95.1% response rate). Among stu dents participating in our survey, 12.5% (95% CI: 10.9–14.1) with depression and/or anxiety symptoms used mental health service in the last 12 months. In the multivariable regression models, significant factors associated with mental health ser vice utilization were marital status, types of housemate, men tal health problems, physical activity, smoking status, and alcohol drinking. Our study made recommendations to stake holders for improving mental health services utilization among students in Vietnam. These findings had important implica tions for future research on factors associated with mental health service utilization among university students.
